Welcome to Ghotul Hostel & Homestay (“we,” “our,” “us”). By accessing or using our website ghotulstays.com (“Site”) or booking accommodation or services with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before making a reservation or using any of our services.

1. About Ghotul

Ghotul Hostel & Homestay is a backpacker-style accommodation and community space located in Guwahati, Assam, India. We provide hostel beds, private rooms, and homestay experiences for travelers, along with common facilities and event spaces.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting our website, booking a stay, or staying at our property, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

3. Bookings & Reservations

  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.
  • A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of advance payment or full payment as required.
  • We reserve the right to reject or cancel any booking that does not meet our policies.
  • Group bookings (more than 6 guests) may have special conditions and deposit requirements.
  • Guests must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult or guardian.

4. Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in time: 1:00 PM
  • Check-out time: 11:00 AM
  • Early check-in or late check-out is subject to room availability and may incur additional charges.
  • Valid government-issued ID (passport, Aadhaar, driver’s license, etc.) is mandatory for all guests at the time of check-in.

5. Payment Policy

  • Payments can be made through online transfer, UPI, or secure payment gateways such as Razorpay.
  • All rates are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
  • Any additional charges (food, laundry, events, etc.) must be cleared at check-out.
  • In case of failed or pending online payments, guests must provide valid proof of transaction.

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • 25% cancellation fee if cancelled before 24 hrs. No refund if cancelled within 24 hrs.
  • Cancellations made 48 hours before check-in: Full refund (minus transaction fees).
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of check-in: No refund.
  • No-show: 100% of booking amount is non-refundable.
  • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 7–10 business days.
  • In case of unavoidable circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions), we reserve the right to modify or cancel bookings with prior notice.

7. Guest Conduct & House Rules

    By staying at Ghotul, guests agree to follow our community guidelines and maintain respectful behavior.
  • Maintain cleanliness and respect shared spaces.
  • Quiet hours: 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Smoking allowed only in designated areas.
  • Consumption or possession of illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
  • Alcohol consumption is permitted only in designated common areas and as per local laws.
  • Visitors are allowed only with prior approval from management.
  • The management reserves the right to evict guests found violating rules or causing nuisance without refund.

8. Property Damage & Liability

  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused to property or furnishings during their stay.
  • The management reserves the right to recover repair or replacement costs before check-out or by charging the registered payment method.
  • Ghotul is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
  • Use of facilities (kitchen, lounge, terrace, etc.) is at your own risk.

9. Events & Activities

Ghotul organizes regular community events, workshops, and social gatherings for guests. Participation is voluntary, and Ghotul is not responsible for any injury or loss incurred during such events.

Photos or videos may be taken during these activities and used for promotional purposes with consent.

10. Use of Website

  • You agree to use the website for lawful purposes only.
  • You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any content from the website without written permission .
  • We reserve the right to update, modify, or remove any content, prices, or offers without prior notice.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on this website—including text, images, logos, and graphics—is the property of Ghotul Hostel & Homestay and protected under applicable copyright and trademark laws. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

12. Privacy Policy

13. Third-Party Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Razorpay or social media). We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or operations. Access them at your own risk.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Ghotul shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or stay at our property.
  • In all cases, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for your booking.

15. Force Majeure

We shall not be held responsible for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our control, including natural disasters, acts of government, power outages, or internet disruptions.

16. Modification of Terms

We may update or revise these Terms periodically. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. By continuing to use our website or services after any change, you agree to the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Assam, India. Any dispute arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Guwahati, Assam.
